It’s been a while since I recommended a protein supplement to our clients.
Why did I go off supplements? Because I stopped looking solely at nutritional panels and started looking at the ingredients lists! And I strongly recommend you do the same.
Many of the best-selling products from the big sports nutrition companies may have the kind of macronutrient profile we need to help us achieve our goals, but take one look at the list of ingredients and it reads like a science experiment! We really need to be more concerned with limiting the processed foods in our diets and sticking to whole foods. That’s why, for the most part, I don’t believe that mainstream protein powders/shakes/bars have a place in our diets.
So why am I now recommending NuZest Clean Lean Protein? It is a 100% vegetable protein that has none of the artificial flavours, additives, fillers and weird sounding chemicals that are found in other protein powders. Without getting too sciencey on you, the protein is extracted from peas using a low heat, non-damaging process.
Clean Lean Protein has a super high protein content and is perfect for adding to smoothies for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
As I’ve talked about over and over again, it is really important to include protein in your breakfast, especially if weight loss is your goal.
If you’re in a rush in the morning, there is no easier way to maximise the nutrient density of your breakfast than to make a beautiful green smoothie, supercharged with a minimally processed protein supplement.
Try this tomorrow morning!
