Awesome news! We are excited to offer private Exercise Physiology sessions at New Image rebatable by private health funds, and are now equipped to offer this rebate to you at the point of payment.
Recognising that there is nothing more effective than physical exercise in reducing the risk of virtually all chronic diseases, 27 out of 35 health funds now including EP in their lists of rebatable services.
This new service is an extension of our current Exercise Physiologist Medicare-rebated services provided to those with a GP referral.
We currently have on our team three amazing accredited Exercise Physiologists – Dom, Lara and Rod – specialising in the treatment of a range of issues.
What’s the difference between EP sessions and my regular PT sessions?
Exercise Physiology sessions are specifically for developing a plan to mange or rehabilitate an injury or chronic health condition or mitigate the risk of disease in a high risk person. As all our trainers and EPs work together to provide the best results for clients, we will ensure an integrated approach to managing your condition and injury.
What can I expect from a health fund session?
As in our regular PT sessions, EP sessions at New Image will be specifically tailored to your needs, however they will go further in assessment and provide a treatment plan that will inform your ongoing management and training at New Image.
As appropriate, your session may include:
- Fitness assessments
- Girth assessment
- Skin fold assessment
- Blood pressure testing
- Heart rate measurement
- Blood glucose checks
- Trigger point therapy
- Muscle balance analysis
- Dietary advice
- Injury prevention
- Injury rehabilitation
How much does it cost?
Initial EP sessions are 45 minutes long and cost $75 including GST. Thirty minute sessions thereafter cost $65 including GST. These prices are pre-rebate, and you should check the rebates available for Exercise Physiology with your health fund. In most cases we can claim your rebate on the spot if you pay via EFTPOS or credit card.
