I’m so excited to share Shirley’s story after she absolutely KILLED it in our recent Built for Summer Challenge and lost five kgs in just six weeks.
And she’s gained so much more. She’s a walking, talking example of what we really strive to do at New Image. Shirley’s learnt to put herself first, and in changing her health, has really changed her outlook on life.
Shirley’s been a long time friend of New Image, and a personal friend of mine, and I’m delighted that she’s achieved such great results since her recent return to the studio. Like many of our clients and all busy mums, Shirley’s accustomed to taking care of everyone else and really deserves this new found level of vitality that she’s worked so hard for.
Here’s what Shirley had to say at the completion of the 6 week Challenge:
Before the challenge: let’s just say, chocolate was my afternoon snack – to be honest a bag of Cadbury Flakes is slightly more than a snack!
Just before I started the challenge I had bought ‘the next size up’ as there was no way I could continue to squeeze myself into my jeans. Depressing to say the least. I continually felt like my mind was foggy.
BUT: Week 6 begins and I find myself addicted to exercise, making the most of the extra time for myself due to the school holidays. Working out each day, sometime twice a day. My diary is filled with exercise options for the next 2 weeks.
Other than the occasional glass or two of champagne, I have been sugar and wheat free. I no longer crave my afternoon sugar fix, my mind is clear (clarity at last!!)
Name the diet – been there, done that. Who would have thought it is so simple! No grains, no sugar, plenty of fresh veg, lean protein and keep active. Where would I be without Sean and the positive friendly faces of New Image.
I think you’ll agree that the five kilogram weight loss was the least of Shirley’s transformations. A clear head, a commitment to daily exercise and a healthy diet she can stick to are what I’m really interested in! Well done, Shirley. We’re so proud.
